A tentative possibly, depending on date, venue, and whether I can "sell" the
concept to SWMBO as rider training.

    Easy, innit.

You're going out with experienced riders to learn about cornering and
machine control and to keep things nice and safe you'll be off the
public road and doing it on a track.

A road, with no speed limits, no plod, minimal other traffic (that's
small and easily avoidable) and much grippier tarmac than normal? It's
    not you?

You don't have to go fast, it's just that you go out and it sort of
happens. The whole wannabe-racer thing is optional.

    <small voice>
    but I like it.

Make it a good track and I'm in. Haven't done a proper trackday for a
    few years.

On the surface it seems like a good idea but in reality it's a lot of work.
We did this with Bikegirl last season and it was tough. People pull out at
the last minute, organising a date that will suit everyone is difficult and
you have to keep reminding people. You would be far better off just booking
a day and asking if anyone is interested and get them to book and when they
have organise a get together. IIRC this worked well at Snet a few years ago.
We even had a spectacular crash by Ash.

That's pretty much all I was going to do anyway. It was getting the
right day so we could have maximum attendance, which is why I'm asking
at this point in the year before anyone books anything else.

Sounds like a great idea for those who like that sort of thing.

I'd come along to watch and be social, but, not for the track day.

  20. You did well right up until the last word. then it fell apart. Getting
the word 'track' past an already suspicious female isn't going to work.
