  1. Woo-hoo! Finally hit 1,000 in the total credit league table.
There don't seem to be many big hitters coming from below at the moment so
    I should get higher.

Swapping in an Athlon64 X2 4200+ in place of a Sempron 3000+ and
matching the memory to get dual-channel memory transfers has made my
Presario give 2-1/2 times more output (at a cost of nearly £200 when you
add in extras like Maplin's £9 tube of silver heat-sink compound, and
replacing the original Infineon DIMM with a Crucial stick).

Seems they wised up to my trick of using a position other than a
multiple of 20 to get an instant update of the table. Now if you don't
specify such a multiple, you get the top of the table, and the pages for
allowed values are cached and only updated every 12 hours at the most.
Since they seem to be updated on request rather than all at the same time,
this means it's possible to disappear completely if you are "between"
pages, or indeed to appear at different positions on two different pages.

    Well done.

Sadly for the seti programme my efforts to save the plantlette involve
me switching off computers when I am not needing them so my totals are
going up only very slowly but going up still they are.

  3. Currently at 996.
Ah, well, I'm not using as much heating this winter, due to a
    1 GHz Celeron laptop, a 3.2 GHz P4 laptop and 2x dual-core Athlon64 machines
warming up the front bedroom despite the radiator's being turned off. ;-)

I think my email address is still valid for around 1700 results not fixed to
    a group.

If you walk me through the process I'd be happy to promote my personal
    results to the group.

    Cheers

  9. They're back up now, and I still don't see a Join button on any
of the three pages. Is it IE7-unfriendly?
