.... Which reminds me ... I used to work with an ex-Sapper, rigid-
backed, ex-Captain of my Grammar School, local golf club captain,
string-backed gloves type. You know the sort. I never heard him swear,
not once, not even when really provoked and this topic came up over a
luchtime beer. He proceeded to tell a tale of the one time he did
swear, during his time in North Africa, during WWII, where, due to the
high number of STD incidents, his unit was issued with a re-usable
profylactic. These were nick-named "fuckers" for obvious reasons. Said
chap was never the sort to actually use his, but when he came back to
his locker to find someone had used and not rinsed his, he uttered the
phrase "Oh ****, some fucking fucker's fucked my fucking fucker!"

I think he was making it up, but it made me laugh like a drain and
never look on him the same again.

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that, I'm not on form atm.

ISTR the RF900 clutch gave you problems too

Well - yes, and then again - no.

For a start that was something over seven years ago. I thought the
clutch was slipping in second, so we fitted an uprated spring, turning
it into the He-Man clutch of legend, that was great physio for my
fucked wrist. Of course, it wasn't the clutch at all, but the 'box
slipping out of second and banging back in again - that's what was
leading to the facefuls of clocks.

I thought you might have been referring to the Vectra clutch that cost
me £400 to have replaced in January this year, but that was a no-fault
job, just the slave cylinder letting go - and they all do that Sir.

    eh ?!

Seems Cab's amnesia is sweeping all the DFV's.

*I* gave you the fiver and receipt. That's how I knew what the 2
mystery items were on it :)

<g> Bugger! So how on earth did you remember trivia like that? Oh
well, we'll see if anyone else claims it.

I did think it a bit strange that you'd apparently eaten that lot when I
knew with 100% certainty that you'd had a scabby old pasty and moaned
    about the cost.

Two slices of Victoria sponge cake - and very nice it was too. I would
have answered sooner but my internet connection has only just been
restored this morning after failing whilst we were away. As I hadn't
noticed the loss I suggest that you donate it to a charity of your choice
rather than go to the hassle of sending it to me.
