We aren't bringing the kids this weekend, as we can't come anyway :(

We've got an open day at a local secondary school on Saturday that we
need to go to, as I've got to fill in the form for Emma's secondary
school choices ASAP. - Its a bit of a bastard really as the only school
we've seen so far that looks good costs over £10k per year! 2 kids @ 7
years each is out of the question as the fees would be more than our
    mortgage.

Thats about all we can afford at the moment, although I did turn down a
job offer today that would have covered the entire fees.

Best not to use me as an example. Any money spent on putting me in a
classroom would have been wasted, I suspect. My style of learning is
more suited to huge bursts of taking in *lots* of information, then
periods turning it into something I can apply, occasionally revisiting
theories or texts in more depth. For some reason I find it even easier
to do this when under pressure.

Slow steady progress flips the attention span to off. I'm a teacher's
    worst nightmare.

You know that both of them are bright enough to cope with even the
shittiest comp. Why give yourself the worry of fees to cope with?

The ex and I looked at private schooling for the eldest, on the
grounds he was a bright delicate flower - but that is seeing them with
parents eyes and wanting to do the protecting them from the nasty
world thing. You can't do it to any great extent and if you could you
wouldn't be doing them a favour.
Was that the repping one with the travelling? Shame :(
