Actually it was only the pros who were getting things crossed up for fun
with passengers on board (eg photo 10).

The rest of them were mostly wannabees - kids moving up from Karting
etc. It was a actually a competition for Blendini looking for their
third driver. Of course you had to pay to take part, so they actually
made a little bit of money out of it as well.

#1 son wasn't miffed he didn't get through - the competition was very
stiff[1] - he just enjoyed the track time and tuition he got.

[1]One guy had previously won a Vauxhall scholarship and was the VXR
    series winner or summat.

Picasa. 1GB limit. Does the resizing for you.

Yup. I tried a few but most came out crap due to lack of care in setting
up for the shot. I don't do cold and wet it seems. This

was about the best one, but shot in full auto so random results. I
know how to do these kind of shots, just didn't do it on the day.

I probably wasn't clear enough. Flickr is a bandwidth limit. So although
it will resize the files for you, the uploaded data still counts towards
your monthly tally, besides taking longer to upload in the first place.

  8. The max number of pics on a free account is 200, no matter how much you
    reduce them in size.

Really? I didn't know that. Looks like another reason to move to Picasa.

He's not quite right. You have no limit to the amount you can upload,
other than the monthly bandwidth restriction.

What they do restrict is the amount of photos you can see in your
photostream to 200. Anything else is still there, you just see the
    most recent 200.

They also store the high resolution pictures that you upload as well,
just display the no-quite-so high res ones.

If you then upgrade to a Pro account, then it all magically becomes
available and visible with no additional uploading.

And frankly, for the pittance that a Pro account is for a year, its
    silly not to have it.
