Last year it was *the* ukrm calendar - I had hoped to do another one
this year, but there was a distinct lack of suitable photographs. 2008
    may be different, who knows.

This year, following on from a passing comment by Champ, I give you
the ukrm Bittorrent server, aka ukrm-nova. Original name, I know, but
    GAF.

Why? Well, there have been a fair number of "Did anyone record xyz"
requests on the group in recent history.

This server is an attempt to a) supplement, not replace uknova and b)
offer TT, ManxGP, Irish road racing, MotoGP, WSB and BSB race
programmes for download - as far as I can tell, there are no bike
racing programs on uknova. This may be down to their "If it's
available to buy, don't make it available for download" policy,
however for bike racing, I feel that making the races available for
download until such time as Duke/Whoever produce DVDs falls within the
    spirit of the policy.

How? Point a web browser at http://statto.dyndns.org/tracker and
register an account - the server will be closed and all accounts will
have to be approved, initially by me, but there could be additional
admins in future. When registering, please use your ukrm posting name.
Please read the FAQs etc.. The server is on the end of my broadband
connection which has been a bit flaky recently.

At the moment, the available programmes are quite limited - This Life
Plus 10, The Old Grey Whistle Test Story, John Peel Night, odds and
ends of bike racing, including the 2006 Macau GP.

Don't use this server to distribute copyrighted stuff - CDs, DVDs,
    videos etc..

This will only be as good as you lot make it - enjoy.

  2. **** that shit. Unless Champ's so-called "passing comment" was
pre-19/09/2006 then it was *my* idea and I'm going to sulk until you
jolly well admit it and pay me 99.9% of your total income from this
    venture.

Don't make me get out my google-groups URLs, now.

Statto, aren't you running this at a loss?

Sounds like you might have a sponsor....

  4. No, I was very careful with my wording there, see?

I already have my top team of amateur lawyers on the case - this could
get very ugly, very soon... Napster Vs RIAA will have nothing on
SlowerThanYou Vs The Rest of the Internet.

  5. I will lose all my usual charm and subtlety.
Hahah! That's legally binding, that is. My lawyers are now telling me
that they're going to be rich beyond my wildest dreams! I win!

No - from the House Rules section: "No warez, porn etc. - there are
loads of places elsewhere on t'Internet to get that sort of thing
    from."

I've only just found this thanks to a posting by Champ on
    rec.mc.racing and so have registered.

There were some TT/NW200 etc. road racing clips someone uploaded to
UKNova last year from BBC NI. As the torrent has probably disappeared
from UK Nova by now I could probably make them available, if required.

I've also got some stuff I've recorded over the years that I can
probably upload if I can get it off tape! Might take a while to work
    out...

This is a great idea, Statto, thanks.

    All the best

  11. That'd be good. I put some up to google vid and utube, of the TT and
various Irish road racing, but most of the originals have been wiped
now. I've still got a couple, but the more the better.

OK. I'll see what I can do, if my membership is approved by Statto. I
may need to check first with UK Nova before I post them elsewhere.

How do I go about finding out whether the uncut version of Malcolm
McDowell's Caligula is available in the shops?
