I don't think it's new, is it? Presumably he's somewhere without access
to an NNTP client or server, or both.

    Eddie says...
    Bingo.

I'm on a course in sunny Bracknell and the net connection's been down
all day, so I was reduced to Google Groups via my phone. Rubbish.

go on - sit on the sofa with V., scoffing pringles and drinking Pinot
Grigio, laughing - but at the same time being extremely smug about
your concern - at Comic Relief. You know you want to.

Someone else needs to organise a ukrm-london drinks evening - few
people seem interested when I do it. In fact, **** 'em all - it's
clique-drinks only for me going forward.

for a start, I was operating within the context of the subject of this
    thread.

Secondly, you always seem to have a knack of organising them when I'm
    not in the country[1]

[1] well, you know, not on the "mainland".

Oh this is nothing to do with work - I have some more Eurostar
frequent traveller points to burn, and want to do so before my Carte
Blanche card expires. We went to Paris a couple of weeks ago, for free
on the Eurostar points and my HiltonHHonors points. Fancied another
trip to Brussels, and although I'm having to pay for it, I got a
    brilliant deal staying here:

    http://www.thedominican.be/

which by all accounts is a pretty nice hotel.

I always watch them with great interest but you lot always plan them
when I'm providing Transportation Services to the Masses and can't
    attend.

I will get there again one day, promise mister.

you were at the one at the Chandos, when Cane handed Sweller a £50
note and uttered "go and fetch the drinks, my good man" one, weren't
    you?

Or was that some other gay tube captain?

I was indeed. Just after the bit when I looked at a big hairyarsed
group in the corner and decided you looked like a bunch of bikers and
    introduced myself.
    Are there any others?
