BGN's BGBBQ went quite well this summer. Well, nobody died of any
    food related illness.

    TOG@toil, ,
The return ferry time's a bit steep for us northerners...

Will P+O get all arsey if folk turn up and try to get on an earlier
    ferry?

  7. I don't think I've ever been on the ferry I was booked on. Always get an
earlier one. Well, Dover - Calais that is. The one I use now only sails
    twice a week.

Dunno, but I sometimes get ahead of schedule and get on an earlier
SeaFrance sailing than the one I am booked on with the car. No problem
if they have room and the crossing is on the same tariff. Managed it
each way on the last trip, but they charged me £7.50 , which I guess is
    a 'rebooking fee'.

According to my estimates you'd be off the ferry by 16:30 on the
Sunday afternoon. That means you'd be home by about 21:00 and then
have all the next day off to sort yourself out.

    Where's the problem?
That always depends on if they've got any spare space on the ferry but
if they haven't and you end up on the scheduled one it's not as if
it's getting you home at midnight with work at 8am.

Obviously life for the northern contingent would be easier if the
organiser lived somewhere in those barren wastelands but you need to
ask yourself if you'd sooner have someone from the south organising
trips to France or someone from the north sorting out weekends in
    Hull?
