OK, here we go. It's been something of an effort to find a hotel big enough, but 'tis done. We're going to the seaside! Ice creams, paddling, sandcastles, whatever. Actually, the reality will probaby be howling gales and slashing rain. Anyway, the dates are Friday 4 May and Saturday 5 May, returning Sunday 6 May, and leaving the Bank Holiday of 7 May to recover. We're going to Dieppe. Something for the WW2 historians - the Dieppe Raid of 1942 is covered in a museum in the chateau on top of the cliffs. There's also the new Juno Beach Centre at nearby Courseulles-sur-Mer (opened a couple of years ago). There's a big Saturday market, as well. And, best of all, down the road to the west, at Fecamp, there's the Benedictine factory (we visited that a few years ago, IIRC). It's well worth a swift tour and a glug or two. We're staying here: http://www.hotelwindsor.fr/ Prices yet tba, but expect them to be similar to previous trips. In other words, £100-110 per head, based on two people sharing, to include ferry crossing and two nights' half-board accommodation. Five course dinner both nights. Booze extra, and can easily add 50% to the cost of the weekend, or 100% if your name is SteveH and you can't read wine list prices properly. We'll be travelling Dover-Calais, as ever. It's actually quite a nice run down close to the coast. So - those up for it email me at chateau dot murray at dsl dot pipex dot com and, as before, forms will go out for proper bookings, probably in the New Year.
