What are they going to do when everyone says they don't want to pay taxes?
I sense a subtle problem with this ideological approach.

"We believe that there should be some structure there which represents
people on an issue-by-issue basis. "

So, a rag bag of single issue pressure groups, then. Great.

Well I personally have suggested that I run for PM before, but I've been
side-tracked away from that with my Pope campaign.

Of course the big difference between me running the country and UKRM running
the country is that I'd have all of you fuckers shot.

Democracy, eh? It's a load of old wank when you think about it.

If it's my party of choice it'll contradict its own policies.

Or you could just stick in a good word for me with a cardinal or two and I'd
**** off to Italy and leave you all in peace.

Not with me as Pope it's not.

Of course, the UK may be subsumed by the new state of Popeland.

Not directly relevant, but deep in the article it said:

"Last week, in a strategy devised by party chairman Charles Saatchi, the
Conservatives sent out 100,000 e-mails to party members containing
leader Michael Howard's 15 core beliefs. The recipients were then asked
to mail the message on to 10 people."

Interesting on a couple of counts:

    1. Have the Tories actually *got* 100,000 members with computers? If so
then the 'silver surfer' must be a real phenomenon rather than a bit of
    media rubbish.

    2. Has anyone received one of these emails since about 1,1 million of
them should have been sent out.

Wouldn't that break the (recently introduced) law on mass emailings?

Dunno, given they sent 100k (apparently) to their membership I suppose
    that's legitimate.

And the 10 each making up the million are sent by individuals getting
    around the law?

FUCKING HELL! The crafty bastards, they're setting up a spam email
    service to raise funds.
