Nina = Lady Des. You could be an X-Men type mutant.

It's a quiz, but a fairly easy one.

Yes, we just have to find a weekend when you and your good lady are free,
Lisa and I are free, Eddie and Mrs Eddie are in Leeds and my parents aren't
    at their fucking golf club[1].

    So, no problems there then.

[1] So they can have Emma, because if we bring her everybody has to be home
    and being quiet by 7:30pm.

  7. that little gesture and phrase put me in mind of Jonathan Pryce in the
Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies when the chinese secret agent says "and
what do you get?" and then Pryce does exactly what you've done and said
and then adds "only exclusive broadcast rights in China for the next 100
    years."

Goodness - I managed to make a (almost in context) post in a ukrm film
    thread! that's a first.

Yes, but it was a James Bond reference which slightly negates its
    relevance. OTOH it's a start.

It's the film one ... the first film banned in Britain was just a close-up
    of a bit of cheese.

  10. I'm not a great film fan but I do like James Bond films. YMMV.

  11. I think your GYASB number probably comes into play here as the Elliot
Carver character was definitely very smooth and also somewhat bonkers.
Does that sound like you? :)
It'll probably be my last one as well.

I quite like them and think Pierce Brosnan is one of the better
    replacements for Sean Connery.

Unfortunately they're currently very obvious with their product placement
but they still have a certain amount of camp nonsense about them.

It was also a bit of a let down when a Desmond Llewelyn "This is Your
Life" thing became a publicity puff for the latest Bond film totally
overshadowing his other achievements; he looked a bit disappointed.

From "Censored : The history of British film censorship" by Tom Dewe
    Mathews;

"The blue-veined English cheese was filmed through a microscope by the film
pioneer and experimental colourist Charles Urban in 1898. However, the
prospect of customers gazing at the intracacies of bacterial movement
magnified over a hundred times on to a wall-sized screen spurred the British
cheese industry into virulent protest and the ninety-second film was
    withdrawn."

If you're interested the next little bit lets you know that the box-office
hit of 1896 was a sub-two-minute film called "Girl climbing a tree".

Of course these days that sort of thing would be done using CGI.

He wasn't, in the beginning. ISTR that it's swapped over a couple of
times in the past, and there have been times when he's had fancy
    technological disguises.
I don't expect to see Angel. Sentinels are a possibility though: they
might look good on film. It's obviously a Phoenix storyline. I'm
embarrassed to confess I can't remember what came between the Birth and
Death of Phoenix, apart from "Days of Future Past", which it certainly
    won't be.

    Let me think...

There was a Hellfire Club story. I'm struggling to remember what else,
though. I might have to wander upstairs and read some of them again.

I'd recommend "A life less ordinary" and "O Brother where art thou". Any
Coen brothers film would have a good chance of meeting with approval.
