    Hi,

I don't get to the cinema much [1], so what would people recommend as the
best action/adventure genre film of the last 2 years which is now out on
    DVD?

    TIA

  3. I though the scene that included the boat sinking at the dock was
    brilliant.

It has some clever bits - like the boat sinking bit - but I agree. I
was actually getting bored towards the end.

Incidentally, the whole trilogy is now on DVD for £17 at

Not bad, I think you'll agree.

I chose Kill Bill - which was excellent, with a great soundtrack to boot. If
you've not watched it - then do so.

Violent though. I mean, you really have to be in the mood for dismembering
    in a big way...

well, it certainly wasn't originally made in the "last 2 years", but
it's only recently been issued on DVD, and has fast become a firm
favourite in this household: "Shogun Assasin" - 3.99 delivered, from
    Play:

"Kill Bill"? Pah - newbie upstart nonsense with a fancy-pants
soundtrack - *this* is how jap-sword-fighting ultraviolence is
    supposed to be done.

please tell me you're not really kill-filing me, and that such a drink
exists - it sounds fucking lovely.

Alternatively, call me a **** and be done with it, but please let me
    know that this actually exists...

I wasn't saying that you'd said your killfiled me - I just thought you
might have done. "proto-darsy" - that's good. Err, who would those be
    then?
is this something you really feel you need to do? If for no other
reason, I'd prefer to attempt some sort of reconciliation to stop
Lozzo banging on on your behalf.
Blue curacao piss is always "interesting".
well, that's exactly why I thought it sounded nice. I suppose you
could always mix it half and half with normal Kahlua, if it's too
    orangey.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon would get my vote.
Kill Bill is also very good.
LOTR - I'm told that the extended editions are worth the extra money.
    I quite liked "Bulletproof Monk".

There have been a bunch of superhero films. X-Men and Spiderman - two of
each - are good if you like that sort of thing. Hulk and Daredevil are
    crap.

Three Kings is excellent. (A bit more than two years old.)
Enemy at the Gates. A bit of a turnaround to see Brits playing the good
guys and Yanks playing the villains.
