UKRM Comedy Club

Went to see Frankie Boyle last night. Not having seen anything of him
that wasn't aired on TV, boy did I have a suprise. Pretty far from being
Politically Correct.

He'd fit right in on here.

Those without a sick sense of humour or very thick skin should avoid. I
enjoyed most of it, but didn't get many jokes about so called "celebrity"
people, due to not knowing who the **** he was on about.

He also mentioned he was getting some flak about his jokes about people
with Down's which would be in the papers today. Didn't seem to stop him
though.

 

The closest I've got is seeing his live DVD, whereupon I found that his
style of humour, whilst OK for pushing the limits occasionally on Mock
The Week, gets a bit tiring after an hour.

He's getting flak on BBC Radio5 right now. But I guess he knew he'd be
getting it with that subject matter.

 

Pah. Try a Jerry Sadowitz gig some time.

 

Boyle just swears a lot. Sadowitz was a whole different kettle of
offensive fish.

 

Yea, I saw the stories on various news outlets after I posted.

He did mention it was his last tour several times last night whilst
ripping the piss out of people.

 

I can see him being right up your street.

 

That poor woman sat next to me, her gob was hanging open in shock for
the whole hour and a half and she didn't laugh once.

 

Next time pull your hand out of her ****, you ****.

Some Mong Mother, Sharon Smith <snigger> was on Radio this morning
complaining about Boyle. Her comments indicated he was doing just what
leading edge black comedy should. Good time to put A.Sayle back in the broom
cupboard.

These people should go to the Ed.Fringe and sit through some of the
alternative comedy turns. If you haven't squirmed once and possibly thrown
up, as well as having sore sides, it was wasted money.

saw him a few months back - great show.

 

it was the moans and sharp intakes of breath from some of the audience
after hearing some of his comments that actually made the whole thing
funnier for me.

 

That was me at times, and I think I generally have a pretty robust sense
of humour. I distinctly remember you wincing at a lot of it too.

That one in May's been moved, btw. The Masons is closed for
refurbishment so it's at that pub down the road from the Comedy Store
instead.

It's a bit pathetic really. She was quite happy to go along to hear him
rip the piss out of things that might upset other people, but wasn't so
happy when it turned out she was one of those other people.

 

Well quite. Some of the comments at the end say pretty much that. Some
in the middle might as well, but I CBA to read them all.
