And it is only fair that as we allow you to travel under the ukrm banner
that we should allow a bit of profit making towards the cause.

Snot a fair fucking world though is it?

I don't have an issue with rounding it up to the next fiver as a fund
generator providing, of course, that the spending is accounted for
proper like, a simple bar bill will suffice.

Oh, go on. It would be nice to see it finally appear after all these

    Well Yay, if it happens.

Reading the threads up there ^^^, there seems to be a consensus
forming that some charidee may benefit from any profits. If you can
live without any charidee benefitting from sales, you could use a site
*like* photobox.co.uk [1] and set up a public album so people can
order T-Shirts, Mousemats, calendars etc. From the DFV point of view,
there would a minimum amount of effort [2] in terms of distribution
which would appear to be biggest PITA.

[1] I'm not suggesting that you use them, they were just the first one
    that came to mind.

[2] Once the album is set up, just post a url and people can order for
    themselves.

Plus, whilst we're being all picky and pedantic, the other word is "yea"
    not "yay".

FWIW, I'm in the "nay" camp on this one as a concept, but more shirts
would be a "yea" for me.

I think this is a good idea - need a new design, mind - time for
another compo. I'll organise the compo at least.

  10. It does seem to have gone a bit tits up. The last time I sent my
subscription, I never received my membership stuff (you normally get
badges and rubbish like that - can't say I missed that) and I think my
membership may well now have lapsed - who knows? They haven't sent me
    anything like reminders.

  14. Indeed.

Actually, just photos of birds from the race team's
Little Black Books would sell well...

Why don't they just auction the Little Black Books themselves?
Should raise enough to buy a wholte new bike...

Well my time is cheap and the more this gets discussed the more people are
expressing interest, so I'm happy to have a crack. A £5 mark up sounds
great in theory, but I hope people are not put off ordering by the price.
Mind ewe, I can't claim the approach we followed last time was wholly
successful (keeping the pricing keen to get a high quantity and good pricing
from the supplier, with people invited to round their cheque up as they saw
fit - IIRC only 1 person gave more than £5 in this way and the vast majority
    didn't add anything.)

Given that Darsy's taken on the part I didn't want to do (sorting out a good
design), I'm prepared to administrate it when we need them making. I'll
even undertake to pull my bloody finger out and do them this side of
    Christmas (design permitting).

No, because I wouldn't want to have a picture of most of the people round
here (myself included) on the wall if you paid me. Superbike provides a
perfectly good calendar every year :)

Shirt I'd be definitely interested in.

  18. I cant speak for anyone other than myself but I'm happy for my reasons for
    resigning to go on record.

The initial reason was a big hoohah about the committee not responding when the
ex treasurer (Jan) getting voted back in at an AGM.

The main reason I objected to Jan's reinstatement was that when she left her
post the committee (myself included) had to put a block on the bank account and
open another one. Two plus years later the funds in the original account could
still not be accessed. one of the reasons for this had been the inability to get
a signature from Jan releasing responsibility. Added to the fact that *no*
accounts had been produced while she was in the post.

my second reason which is why I still resigned when she failed to take up the
post was that I didn't have the time to do the job justice anymore.

As far as I can tell the guy who took over my role seems to be doing a good job.
instead of renewals going out with the magazine I got sent it separately and got
a fair response with the arrival of my card and patch.

From what Ive heard of the rest of the committee is that they are getting on
with the stuff that needs to be done, including getting involved in a couple of
consultative processes. Not being at home at the mo I dont have access to the
latest Open House to state exactly what they are.

Perhaps Otter (the Northants rep) can comment on the current state of play?

  19. Funnily enough, someone else on here (Platy?) asked me recently whether they
were still a member? My last reminder came separate to Open House (a far better
    system IMHO).

I'd guess if you are getting Open House magazines you are. if not then you
    aren't.

you have two options if you want to renew, phone / email the office and they'll
send you a form or check the website and post off the relevant amount with your
    name and address.
