Thanks to whomever recommended Platform by Michel Houellebecq.
    Excellent.

I'd like to reciprocate with Straw Dogs by John Gray. Interesting.

It did, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe I own it, and didn't
read it. Or didn't finish it. I'm sure I own it. Definite. And I
think I remember taking it to the station for a train journey, so I'm
sure I must have started it...

    Dunno.

it was the one about the woman and the man, and that stuff happened,
and that other bloke was in it, and then that other thing happened.

BTW, forgot completely to dig out that log book - will try and
remember to do it this evening; don't hold your breath though, I seem
to be completely shit at remembering to do things at the moment[1]

[1] busy at work in a "thinking about ten million things that need
    thinking about" sort of way.

  9. Well, what do you know. I'm reading Straw Dogs at the moment. It's
book, ooh, about 14 since I started maternity leave 3 weeks ago. A
girl's got have something to do whilst cursing all the bikers she can
hear from her garden of an afternoon!

I've only read the first section so far. It's very good, but at the
moment I am too depressed at how much I have forgotten of the
Enlightenment philosophy I studied at uni to actually be 'enjoying'
    the read.

Cursing all of them's a bit harsh. It was only Will that got you in
    your current state!
    Forgetting is a bitch.
