Easy Tiger, I was just having some fun... Most people probably are
snobs to some degree, I certainly am, hence I won't lower myself to
    type f*ck*ng... :)
As for liking you or not, I don't recall having met you, so I can't
    say I dislike you... :)
Now where is my wooden spoon?

    Simian says...
Ukrm has been likened to a pub by some. If this is how you talk amongst
your close friends in your local, then..

    a) I'm glad don't count you as a close friend.
    b) I'm very glad I gave up drinking.

Btw, nice to see a semi-colon making a rare appearance :)

That's the best bit. You get to make up your own interpretation and it'll
    probably make as much sense.

I didn't, really. I was reading colourful as overly descriptive,
which seemed to make sense in the context - particularly as you went
on to talk about making oneself understood. I thought it was a cry
    for Plain English.

Swearing, eh? I don't think there's been a complaint about swearing
on UKRM for quite some time.

The write-up you linked to implies that it's comparing American and
French culture. Please tell me they don't think American==English?

It approaches it more from an Anglo-Saxon angle than American. The
reason for this, is that (although the authors are Quebecois), they're
catering for a primarily Merkin audience.

They've not given me the impression that they think American==English.
TBH, both of them seem pretty smart in their writing and they seem
travelled enough _not_ to make that sort of mistake.

RIght. So, you honestly believe that the only difference between
fiction written for children and fiction written for adults is weather
there's sex and violence in it.

As usual, your world view is so out of whack there's little point in
    trying to discuss it.

I've read that "Good Omens" thing - that was OK. I wouldn't read any
of the crap he wrote without someone to help him.

  20. So, Prachett is only good when working with others, and the others
are better when Prachett isn't around?

    We should be crossposting this...
