So did I, until Krusty's response led me to click the "More info on
    pricing" link:

    http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

And it says at the top that whether you buy a <grinds teeth> goodybag or
    not, pricing is the same.

And I've got pretty good at it now. I can skin and gut a deer in
about 30 minutes including trimming its legs and head.

I've even got a rope hanging in a shed, slung over a beam just waiting
    for the next corpse.

Seems to be the same story with all the PAYG SIM deals. They say 'free
unlimited internet', & when you wade through the small print you
discover that 'unlimited' actually means 150mb/month. I feel a few
reports to the ASA may be in order tomorrow.

Vodafone Ireland PAYG sim card gives 50Mb of roaming data for a couple of
Euros a day if you use the live.vodafone.com APN

I've also found some PAYG sim deals only do GPRS/Edge, not 3G. A bit
rubbish when you want to try a service before committing to a contract.

Well, yes, but, by that logic, you'd also be paying 8p for each of
    your goodybag bundled minutes

So does mine and it drains the battery faster than I can charge it.

I can't wait for Friday night when he turns up at a campsite drivng his
redneck caddie with two dirt bikes wedged in by a dead deer.

You can bet he'll be wearing Levis and a checked shirt, with an oil
    stained baseball cap on.

So long as you opt in for their 'data traveller' package at £10 a month
extra. Unless you are on a monthly tariff of £40 or more.

Any serious data usage and you are still going to get raped. They've
just made it a bit easier to step into the "shallow end", 's all

Same ol' same old. Mix the packages up, complicate them further
and redistribute (read hide) the costs as best you can. Then (miss-)sell
it for all it is worth. Just another big, trustworthy, friendly company
    trying
to do you, personally, a big favour.

It is no surprise that people get pissed off dealing with large companies,
    these days.

Charging stupid money for something that costs.peanuts isn't taking
    the piss.

Increasing your prices fivefold with minimal warning a matter of
weeks into a two year contract is taking the piss.

I wouldn't shit on Vodafone if they were on fire and I'd be ashamed
    to work for them.

That would surely be grounds to break the contract.
