  3. JimS -

Of course, I meant that the CL poster is unclear on the concept.

Trade: Housesitter to trade for modded R1. Good with pets (extra) and will
change the oil on your bike every 5000miles. Please have a clean house and
a clean bike, no flakes--this is for real!! Please, will not reply without
pic of wife if she is staying home while you travel.

Well, there are ways to put a lein on a vehicle and to make the person
insure it (naming the lein holder as benificiary)
if not, we'd all have to pay cash for vehicles.

I don't have a religious devotion to the concept
What if they offer a 0% interest loan? It makes sense to let the money
work for you rather than for them

    Huh?
How can the ability to put a lein on a vehicle imply ANYTHING about one
    particular buyer?
Even if this guy ceased to exist sellers would still have the ability to
    put leins of vehicles.

  12. Not necessarily. If you buy the vehicle on a 0% loan, the lender will
require you to carry collision insurance which you might not do if you
    paid cash.

  13. The bike loans I've seen don't require any of that.

  14. But on a new vehicle, C&C is probably a good idea anyway.

Assuming you WILL be carring C&C insurance on your new vehicle, there
really sin't any reason to refuse a 0% loan.

Financing through BMW NA requires full coverage. In fact, I would
imagine any loan that holds a lein on the vehicle would.

What you say is true ... IF you don't want to insure your vehicle (which
is at the mercy of H&R and vandals - and vulnerable if god forbid
you err and get into an accident)
