Seems to be the season to ask this question (and it just so happens I've
just noticed my square tyres are a bit bald...)

Tyres. B12. Maidenhead. What to get, and from whom? Ride-in-ride-out
    service required.

I had BT57s on mine. Which were the forerunners to 010s, and now
    whatever's next: 012s?

Anyway, not stunningly helpful, but the BT57s were very good indeed.

I've only used the Witney branch but they are also in Marlow & High
    Wycombe.

Just had an email back from them, they want £210 for an AV45/46 pair,
    "fully fitted" in High Wycombe...

They're not a bad bunch. I used them once, about 3 years ago cos a mate
knew someone there and they sorted a pair of 010s for the 6R at almost cost
price. Dunno what they're like now but they seemed pretty bike friendly.

Or, why not come into London and go to FWR. They will be about £180 riro
    for a pair of Avons.

    ogden says...
Buy them from www.fwr.co.uk and have them fitted locally. That's got to
    out cheaper than 210 quid.

I'm off there tomorrow morning. I hope to have decided what to get by the
    time I arrive.

I was secretly hoping someone would tell me what to do. I don't just mean
    about tyres, I mean generally.

Tbh I'm not fussed about a few quid here and there, just so long as
I don't have to get my hands mucky or carry tyres round my waist [1]
while riding the bike to somewhere to have them fitted.

I seem to be in London with the bike fairly frequently at the moment,
so might just pop in to FWR.
