Good thing that when society collapses, we won't be able to fuel our
cars, so won't need to worry about repairing their tyres :p

I take it from your comment that you are saying that I should repair
the tubeless tyre instead of have the tyre place do it.

I have bought a tubeless tyre repair kit and used it to repair a tyre
that had a nail in it now. Visually, my repair looks the same as the
plug the tyre place put in my tyre, so I'm guessing the only reason
for that disclaimer on the packet about going to an approved tyre
service centre was just so the manufacturers could cover themselves
and, apart from the fact that I don't work at a tyre service centre,
my plug is in every way as good as theirs.

Yes, because next time it might be 2am Sunday, and it is a long wait
until they open, no to mention a hell of a way to push a bike with a
    flat tyre!
As I say, the Noggie's had one in for about 10k km, seems fine.

This tubeless stuff is great. When the Hack Guzzi got a flat I had to
take the wheel out and find a place that could repair tubed
    tyres.

I totally agree. My Cali II had a nail and tech-screw magnet installed in
the rear wheel from the factory. On a trip to the East coast, Perth, Sydney,
Melbourne, Sydney, Philip Island, Perth, I had a total of four punctures in
the rear. One was on the road into Jenolan caves. I felt it getting very
squirmy about one klick out of the caves and coaxed it those last few
corners. That would be a terrible place to be stuck on the side of the road.
Repairs were done, as Zebee said, by taking the wheel out, except that I
repaired the tube myself. Except for one time when I got a flat in the late
afternoon, my mate took the wheel to the nearest town, about 50kms, and
    brought it back after dark.
On the same trip his SP1000 burnt a valve. We took the head off in the motel
room in Pt Augusta, and I took it to Adelaide to get fixed.

  5. I think he is dreaming on the price. 18" for my Skyline GTR were $500 a
corner. My ex father in laws 20" tyres on this X5 were runflats at $800+ a
corner. Maybe he is buying retreads???

  6. And don't get a cheap one. I've used good ones before, and they are
great. Tried a cheapy the other day, and the reamer broke off in my
hand. Could've been nasty if it had gone through my palm.

As it was, it was just plain inconvenient.

    up.

i think they just use the axe blade the rest of the year. That reminds
me, must go and chase the bush pig around the top paddock to hang
    another leg for next year.
