In simple girlie language what shall I put on the ZXR and why? Going
to be used for 100 mile round trip bimbles and a few long going fast
on motorways to get there quickly runs.

  4. BT010's, and not D207's like I got even if they are cheap.

Or, assuming flash hasn't bought the farm yet, Maxxis.

Why not D207's [1]? Seem very sticky on my bandit.

[1] Not tried BT010's to compare though

Still alive. Am starting a stockpile of Maxxisi before they start getting
    expensive.

BT090's They're sporty ones designed for smaller bikes like your ZXR,
tyres like 010's probably won't be stressed enough to get properly
    warmed up on a 400.

I rather liked the Avon Azaro 3s on the Trophy.

No offence, but do you think you'll notice a difference?

Because I never have - but maybe I don't pay attention.

They just don't seem to offer the same grip as the BT010's did.

None taken, count yourself lucky I've made progress with the PhD
stuff. If I'd seen this first thing I'd have... been mildly cutting I
    suppose.
I doubt it. That's why I asked why.
But these are my first tyres. I'm a tyre virgin. It should be a
special moment, the sweet kiss of rubber and all that...

  18. Oh. Well, there you are then. ;-)

I must confess I know very little when it comes to tyres, but I've tried
both D207's and BT010's on the ZXR and much preferred the latter.

    Bear says...
D207s seem to fall between the 010 and 020.

    I prefer 010s to normal D207s, but I find D207RRs better than 010s. It's
a psychological thing. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that the
D207RR is no stickier than an 010, but it has RR (Race Replica) on the
end so it must be fucking brilliant. The 010 doesn't have any fancy
lettering after it, so it must only be sort of medium...okish....at a
    push.
My god, he's nearly got it. The GP came along first with a sticky
compound and a very race-like profile. They were a bit twitchy for road
use and some riders complained about tankslappers etc, so Dunlop brought
out a more road biassed tyre called the D207RR. The RR has the same
compound as the GP, but built on the standard D207 carcass.
