Tyre pressure gauges

  1. If you refer to the home page they claim only 0.3PSI out.....

Why would a race team need accurate gauge... surely they determine the correct
tyre pressure by the way the lap times, not the other way round.

You didn't think it was odd that the gauge said your tyre was 13PSI over
    inflated?

It has from a historic racing team a Valiant, "he" claimed it was used to
make sure all the tyres where the same PSI

I have it on *loan*, for ever :))

Why do you need an accurate pressure gauge to determine if all of the tyres
are inflated to the same pressure? An inaccurate gauge will do the job just
    as well.

OK, got ya. I didn't take a reading to start with, just cranked up
42psi on the gauge. It did take a fair amount of air but it's not
unusual for my tyres to drop several psi over a few days while I've
got the kids and can't ride.

Then again, often I don't check 'em until the steering gets a bit
heavy. I've found the front tyre in the low 20s a few times.

you can use an inaccurate gauge, as long as it's the only one you use. I have a compressor in the garage, so check tyre pressure
before I leave home. As long as it reads the pressure that I'm happy to ride at, it doesn't matter if it reads 15psi or 55 psi. It
    just has to be consistent.

does that make sense, I'm sober

  13. Yeah mate, picked up a nice Ducati Monster 620 2002, Only had 600 km's on
it before the owner dropped it... easy repair anyway.

Its pretty gutless compared to what I had before, but since the kids came
along its kinda exactly what I want... know what I mean? Im a patient
person (thats why I lived through the kind of bikes I had) but still - it
    lowers the odds.

Yep, Ducati , one bike I never thought I'd own, but I do now.... like
the BMW helmet I bought for it, never thought I'd own something from BMW
but man, that is the quietest helment I've ever had.. and I think I've had
a few models from near every top brand. The BMW sport integra (the one piece
not flip up one) is amazing.

Seeyou round the uni no doubt.

My neighbour bought one of those integra's, they definately look the goods, light as a feather.
I still find it a bit surprising how tight a fit the lip is to get over my melon (is it just me or are they all designed that
    way?)

I wouldn't mind one, if the budget would accomodate it
