Been looking for replacement tyres for my MZ. Online I can get front and
rear including postage and VAT for £69:85. I have rung every tyre place in
the area (Sudbury) this morning enquiring about fitting, not one will fit
them. The only place who will fit bike tyres will only fit those they
supply. He wants over £100 the pair, plus £10 delivery for similar, budget
end tyres I have told him to shove them up his arse, they don't seperately
charge delivery on car tyres (although I know it's all costed into the
price). It wasn't the tyre price that got up my nose but the delivery, OK,
I have bit my nose to spite my face. If they were steel rims I would fit
them myself, but they are cast alloy wheels, and as I tend to use brute
force rather than skill I don't want to risk breaking the flanges.

Guess I now have to mess about in Ipswich or Colchester.

IME, most bike shops will fit customer supplied tyres - about ?5-10 per
    tyre.

Or buy yourself a set of tyre levers and a bottle of fairy liquid. It's
an MZ - a big bicycle.

I have the tyre levers, great things about 2 foot long made by Draper, and
have replaced tyres on my steel rimmed Yamaha wheels, but the Saxon Tour
wheels are cast alloy and just look fragile, so I have chickened out.

I haven't tried bike bike shops, only tyre depots, as my nearest is
    Colchester. A job for Monday.

Tried http://www.blackcircles.com/ ? They will supply the tyres at mail
order prices (sometimes) and arrange for the fitting to be done at one of
    their allied fitters.

  5. There's no shortage of secondhand racers there, I imagine.
