Wondering if anyone can give me a little advise,i need a set of new tyres
after only getting close to 5000km outta the originals and want to know
which are the best ones to go for.I never ride on rainy days,my riding
usually consists of going out in the hills in the twisty stuff.Actaully the
tyres that i have have been great but a bit dissapointed that i couldnt get
a few more miles out of them especially when a friend with a GSXR1000 gets
7000.Anyway apart from that am thrilled with the performance of the bike.

you don't commute and only play in the twisties and get 5000km out of a rear
tyre... sounds like you're getting good value for money. why change?

Don't go for Dunlop's, and 5000 k's on the twisties, you lucky bastard, I
only get 6 to 7500 running normal.

Put a set of pilot roads on , get good milage, but , there is no such thing
    as free lunch.

  5. Pirelli Diablos have a reasonable range on them, especially on lighter
bikes like yours. I tried them on the ZZR... the rear was gone in
5000km, the front lasted 8000km and that is on a 236kg bike. So I think
you will do well on them.

I'm still quite happy with the milage with the BT012's (not BT012SS) that
are fitted to my Blade. I've got 6200km on them at the moment with about a
thousand more to go. Fair call, there was a trip to brissy on the highway
and a bit of commuting, but not overly. I think the problem is I'm actually
scared of feeding too much power on the rear and having it let go, unlike
when I had the 600 I knew I could give it a fistfull and knew it would still
be there. Still finding the limits ... all good fun, hence the decent wear
rate on the rear. Corner speed is still up, probably just not getting on the
gas as aggresively as I could. However, atleast I don't have to buy a new
    rear yet!

I wonder why tyres wear out quicker these days I used to get 12-15 k out of
a set of tyres on straight touring on my ZZR 1100, a friend on a CBR 1000
got more. Could it be that because we have gone to the YANK mentality of sue
sue sue someone sued the tyre manufacturer because a tyre let go on a twisty
road because it was to hard, so they have said stuff you all soft tyres
    only.

Yeah that's right. Some tyre designer is sitting at his desk in Tokyo
designing a new rubber tyre compound for sale in Australia, while his
colleague at the next desk is making a slightly harder rubber compound version
of the same tyres for sale in New Zealand, and at the next desk there's a
bloke making them out of lumps of steel for the Namibian market.
You could always design an air conditioning unit to be mounted on your bike to
blow icy cold air on your tyres to improve their longevity. Failing that I
think Cheng Shin may be your friend.

  13. That's why it needs more info. I'll add any tyres there that people
    tell me about.

(Guess I should find out which ones aren't made any more and delete
them too, but that sounds like work).

    Cheers
