Fazer 600 needs a new rear. Currently wearing BT57 F&R. They don't make
BT57 any more, so I am being offered BT010 and BT020.

I have received conflicting information from two tyre suppliers/fitters:
one guy says should go for a BT020 as this is harder and you shouldn't
run a softer tyre at the back (relative to that at the front).

The other guy says get a BT010.

Who's right? Does it really make any difference? I believe that the
BT010 is a softer, grippier tyre but will tend to wear quicker than the
    BT020.

(Just had a look on the Bridgestone site and they recommned the 010 for
    the Fazer)

    Appreciate and tips, ta.

  2. I use 010 F&R on mine ~4-5K miles for a rear, they're good especially
when it's wet and horrible. I previously had D207(OEM) and they were
not so confidence inspiring in the wet. I have in the past had some
strange wear with the 010 front.

I've been advised by tyre dealers and other owners not to match
010/020 on the Fazer, no idea of the advice for BT57/010. Unless
there's loads of life in the front just change both.

Pillage the beer fund and buy a pair of 010s.

Mind I prefer D 207 RRs (and they're very slightly cheaper)
Its a minority view. ........... But a select one ;-P

If you've been happy with the BT57, then give the Avon Azaro 3 AV45 and
AV46 ST a look. I changed from BT020s to these on my ZZR after Simes
told me about them. They really do rock, as many others will testify.

Added bonuses are they are a fair bit cheaper than Bridgestones and last
longer with no loss of grip.

After your advice, I got Avon 45/46 on my Blackbird, I haven't tried
them out fully due to the shit state of the roads, but the chicken
strips are now off, I can say I feel as confident of these as I did the
BT020's. They still cost £220 for the pair, the same as BT020's, but I
couldn't be arsed to make the big saving and fit them myself. (£158
    supplied loose). Thanks though.
