  1. for a trade unionist you have a strange aversion to card carrying clubs
    with special membership rights :)

  2. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Alex Ferrier"
Quite right. Anyone found to be in possession of even so much as a Dinky
toy car should be tied to the mast and flogged to within an inch of
    their life.
By Gad Sir, it wasn't like this in my father's Navy, let me tell you.

To be truly clubless, you'd have to give up everything. Including
suffering along with like-minded individuals who are united in their
endurance and faithfulness to the cause of MZ.

I really shouldn't rise to the smiley bait ...

However, trade unions, as you well know, are political organisations to,
    rightly or wrongly, effect change.

The desire to 'belong' to a sig list is totally unrelated and IMO
indicates a willingness, a need perhaps, to be wanted, included and
    conform even.

Bordering on the hilarious for the rebel loner biker lifestyle of the two
    wheels only fraternity ...

    It's all a bit gaylord.

I'm not a member of any M/C clubs, MZ or otherwise.

In fact the only club I'm a member of is the BR Staff Association (CIU
bars) thing. Which at 12p per week affords me time travel. Which is
    quite handy.

    Unfortunately it's only backwards.

The BR clubs don't do retro as such, best description really is time
    travel.

What? That there should be a list for the lonely ones to join or an
effort should be made to stem the tide of stupid lists?

The ones that do nothing but devalue [1] the lists that may have once had
some relevance or even humour. Although they do provide a sense of
belonging for those who appear to have little in life to cling to.

Which of those lists is your favourite?

    [1] dear lord ...

You're taking it all very seriously. Do you think sig lists are REALLY the
lamest thing on this NG hmm? At least it's got *something* to do with the
community and gives us the opportunity to rib them about their eligibility.
In fact, I'd rather read some people's sig lists in place of the cack they
    post.

Before the shit car one, no, after yes. They're about as amusing and
    relevant as TIUTA.

I didn't mean to get all zealous about the lists and "OOOh who's in
charge, can I have a number", but they're just *SO* wanky.
    Good point.

I dropped all the crap I had in my .sig about the time they started
having lists for people that had beards or had once worn clogs. You've
really got to draw the line somewhere.
on the other hand, good point.
