No, of course. I don't mean to be personal about this.
Sorry, but that's just not good enough. Morally - that's /not good
    enough/.
    See above.

In the Metro it mentioned that they expect up to 7% of people to have
    problems with the iris scan.

How many people are in the UK? 40 million, 60 million?

So, round it up to 10% and 4 to 6 million people will not be able to get an
    ID card.

    Brilliant.

IIRC, he was spotted in a chippy in Rainworth and handed over after a
good kicking from a few of the locals...

  10. Not as I recall, he was parked down a 'lovers lane' with a local
hooker in IIRC an old rover. A problem with the vehicles registration
caused a passing PC to ask him to get out the car as the PC questioned
him Sutcliff was seen to drop something which roused the coppers
suspicions further, the dropped object was a hammer.

So, a nosy copper ran check on his number plate and picked up the most
wanted man in the UK. Thats why we never will get rid of the Police
right to stop a vehicle for no apparent reason.

Hang on - surely the reason was the problem with the registration?

Yebbut the Police were suspicious or nosy enough to do a check and then
the reg came up as dodgy so they approached the occupants. The Police
will argue that without being able to act on their suspicions a lot of
crims will get away with it and then point to this sort of luck (and it
was pure luck that Sutcliffe was finally caught) as justification.
