spotted today departing and arriving the World Travel Market [2] in
some style in Victoria Dock next to Excel. Taking the piss a bit as
City airport is within spitting distance.

[1] Motorola just about make ok phones - can't say the same about
    cameras
[2] Got thrown off a German stand as an elderly boxhead took exception

  2. Twin Otter. Kewl. Wish I'd seen it.
You might like my father's form of words. "We beat you lot. Twice."

  6. True. I well remember literally hearing the roar from Wembley. We only lived
a mile or so away, and by heaven, you could hear it.

  7. <grin> OK, we're good at getting our own back. I also like the quote used in
Sliders; "The reason the sun never set on the British Empire is that God
didn't trust the British in the dark. "

  9. Me too. I've no clue who originated it: I don't think it was Tracy Torme,
who wrote most of the first season of Sliders.

  10. Superb. Knew a bird with one of them - was on a mission to land on every
Scottish loch, but eventually came a cropper when she/it struck a log.
****'im. Should've asked to see his SS tattoo.

Didn't know they did floating ones. We get them down here but with
    skis on.

  18. Très old, I doubt it originated with Sliders, whatever that was (a
    TV series?).

  19. Yup, a skiffy one, with the lovely John Rhys Davies. Went to, oh, five
    seasons, as I recall.

  20. Hmm, it never made it to Switzerland at the time AFAIR. Sounds
very much like a very old thing starring James Darren, IIRC. Ah yes,
    Time Tunnel. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060036/ though I believe it's
been used a few times since.
