    Managed to lock the front.

    On Shellgrip.

Fucking pedestrians - should be smothered at birth.

Should have got the ABS option, I can stoppie the Versys on Shellgrip
before the ABS cuts in now.

    No, they're on the bike.

First one - ped looked me in the eye, then stepped off the kerb.

Braked, bike went into a dip, then emerged - wheel locked when the
    front suspension unloaded.

ABS and Shellgrip ensured nothing unpleasant occurred.

Second one was a bit more controlled, though I didn't actually brake
that hard, or so I thought.

Not an option anymore - it's the only version Honda UK import.

Lucky. I quite like having it ad sometimes overbrake just to see how
much it takes to make it work. Weirdly Kawasaki don't offer it as an
option or standard on this year's Z1000, but it was on the previous
    model.

Only bike of mine that has i ABS is the FJ1200.

I've never got it to cut in, but it could do with traction control
    occasionally :)

It never ceases to amaze me just how hard I can brake before the GTR's
ABS decides I'm acting the ****.

That got me too, you've got a hell of a lot of braking power, even in
the wet, before it kicks in and saves your sorry arse.

  10. Instead of an ABS light I sometimes think bikes so equipped should have
    a sort of ****-o-Meter (tm).

try riding a Benley - no braking power whatsoever, but the front still
locks up immediately in the wet.

It would be going off every 5 seconds and be too distracting.
