Its your choice what kit you buy.
Would you only buy red/black kit or possibly only red/black bikes then?

What do you do when you go looking for a new bike?
Okay, maybe a bit OTT with the knifing tyres thing, I'll just shake my
    fist and grumble a bit.

Would you put the colour of the kit over the function of the kit.

Good god, it's like listening to my children squabble.

"takes one to know one" when describing an idiot is most definitely not
    something that's true.

    Whether you're an idiot or not, well I'm not expressing a view here;
it's porl's opinion in this thread not mine.

    Nothing new round here then.
Like shooting fish in a barrel then.
And you are both entitled to it.

    Lets drop this one?

    Drop what?

    Porl called you an idiot.

You responded with "takes one to know one"

I pointed out that isn't true.

Fact of the matter is, I think you are pretty fucking thick. You've
demonstrated this on a couple of occasions (as from time to time do most
of us) but, crucially, you haven't shown any redeeming intelligence on
    other occasions.

So, if you want my opinion, in black and white you can have it. Come to
that if you don't want my opinion you can have it; I think you're a
humourless thick **** who wouldn't be missed by anyone if he left ukrm.

There, that nice and clear for you now?

I believe the majority of Born Agains are in reality "born for the first
time" as they never held a full licence in their youth.

The problem with them [1] is because they can afford a modern sports
orientated machine thats what they buy. For many its a lifestyle,
exhilaration, image, 'freedom' choice. If its a commuter thing they'd
all be on GT550s or CG125s.

    They haven't the cumulative experience gained the traditional method;
crashing various low powered, ill handling shite old bikes.

    [1] Cue: sweeping generalisation.

(This has been done to death I'm sure)

I've never understood what was wrong with having leathers that matched
    your bike. I currently don't.

However, when I bought my Hein Gericke 2-piece, there was a choice
between red/white/black and blue/white/black. At the time I had a
red/white/black bike - should I really have bought the
blue/white/black leathers to avoid being a "power ranger"?

a GSX1400 definitely is not a "fast bike".

Quite. Riding a GSX1400 after being used to a GS1000 (which I assume
was the 20 year old Suzuki 1000), he'll be much more impressed with
the improvements in tyre grip, braking and suspension.

I look for something I want to ride that looks good and then find a
    colour I like.

In this case, when I bought my gloves and when I ordered the leathers I
thought my next bike would be red. I wasn't quite late enough with the
    boots though.

No, but that's a different argument to your original one of just
"matching kit". It is possible to get matching kit of decent quality.

Not quite as deep "What is FJ?".

    Or indeed: "Why is FJ?"

And most importantly: "Where[1] is FJ?"

[1] Particularly in relation to any known bathroom fittings.
