Just looking at another posting from one of the honourable members of the
group when i came across this.

Check out the last paragraph, why does it say "motorists" when it cleary
    should say "motorcyclists"

If they just pulled bikers, how can they issue fixed notices to motorists?

    THE FUCKING DIRTY BASTARDS.

I've read the article and I'm absolutely incensed. I can't believe the
    attitude of the police.

I mean, look at para 5.

"Police specialists analysed the incidents and found nine out of 10 of
the victims were older riders, with 82% aged between 30 and 59. "

90% of the victims were older riders of which, 82% were aged between 30
and 59. Now, that means another 2% were either under 30 or older than
    59.

In either case this means an older rider is 30 (or younger). I'm
fuming. Time to go and kill a copper. Or a reporter.

    money just now.

It just makes me MAD! ,<See other post on ins co. rant>

I'm off to put stab the tyres of some noncy twats bikes to stop them
    from binning it.

Or by people claiming to ride rings around them, etc. Funnily enough,
this is by people who - when I've seen *them* ride, I haven't thought
that they were at all special.

Our experiences differ then. Derogatory yes. More ridicule than envy to
describe someone who wears a brightly coloured leather suit that matches
their bike. The name is inspired from the kids TV programme
    http://www.osage.net/~trs13/funkystuff/rangers1.jpg

IME it is usually used in the plural to describe a group of suitably
dressed riders who are riding inappropriately for the conditions. The
minority that have produced the moral panics in N.Wales, Derbyshire, Durham
    and Yorks.

  6. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Cerberus"
    'Cos it said 'also'.

"The increased patrols have also led to dozens of motorists being issued
    with fixed penalty notices."

Fair enough, if they're keeping an eye out for all types of twattery,
    including car drivers.

It's all relative to people's expectations. When someone sees a fat bloke
on a BMW they make certain assumptions [1] which I like to dispel.

[1] these assumptions are also held by coppers which is fine by me.

    Okay if you must.
10 years of 2000 dry miles per year aint much riding IYSWIM, I reckon a
newbie until >10k/year for >3 years in all weathers.
When, to quote my father, "the chap in work is going to buy a Suzuki
GSX1400 as he reckons it wont be a fast bike because he used to ride a
1000cc Suzuki 20 years ago". However, I reckon about 3-5 years off then
    back on.
Nope, what I mean is matching "SHINY, STRAIGHT OUT THE BOX" bike,
leathers, helmet, visor, pillion, knee sliders, etc.

    and fair weather
Well, yep, although TBH I am getting a bit like that as well.
    depends, see newbie.
Just out of curiousity, who are you with? and have you asked for a quote
recently. I just can't believe the hike in the last 2 months. I had
got qoutes at the end of March beginning of April which were much lower
around the 300-400 ukp mark. These were only valid for 30 days tho'.
Fair enough, it may be jealousy to a degree however it is a position I
am not able to do much about ATM. I reckon I will wait until
July/August by which time most of the crashing should have been done.
Not in this instance, I am referring to the matching bike/gear/pillion
crew who are not restricted to sports bikes.
Is there a web-page which lists bikes and ins groups?

Me too. Now, all I need to do is go on that diet again and I'll be able
    to fit into them.
I normally reserve the comment for someone who rides a big sportsbike
wiv matching leathers and boots and gloves and helmet who can't keep up
    with me on my 400.

Of course, they could be running it in or something. I'm nowt special
    in the riding fast department.

Apart from my boots (blue) all the rest of my stuff goes together (red
and black). As soon as I get to a shop that sells black/red and black
boots I'll be getting some. Does this make me a lesser motorcyclist?
Again, if there was the choice I'd have the pillion in matching kit
too. Does this mean you want to come and knife my tyres?
