I've been using turnpike for years without problem

worked with every win OS so far - including Win7 RC

So I've gone out and spent real money on Win7 home - does it work with
    that? Does it buggery

So it looks like I'm going to have to try and run XP as a virtual
machine, so I'll need an XP key to run it

Anyone got migrated to Win7 and got one going spare ?

  3. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Adie
It works very well with Vista.

Geoff, have you checked out demon.ip.support.tunrpike?

Try running the install and/or running the program for the first time as
    administrator (Right-click "run as administrator").

That's worked for me with legacy programs that "won't run on Win7". My
guess is they need to write to the registry and Win7 won't let them.

Yup - seems there is an incompatibility there between win7 64 bit and
    turnpike

Which was a surprise as it worked well with win7 RC

The best recommendation I've come across seems to be to run XP as a
virtual machine - not supported by win7 home

I don't see why I should have to buy pro just to get over what has to be
    a relatively small problem

I'm running it on Vista - just. Every now and again totally randomly it
stops updating the news spool files in the install directory and only
updates them in the virtual store. Only fix is to reinstall, changing
paths in the various config files makes no difference.

Is this home or business. For the former all the installations and keys you
    need are on Rapidshare.....

    Or just leave Turnpike behind.

    What is this, 1995?

    Home - I'll take a look, cheers

Microsoft's reply fairly predictable and useless

"Thank you for the system information, this morning I had a chat session
with the Turnpike Technical Agent and I asked them whether Turnpike
email client is compatible with windows 7 or not and they said Turnpike
is not compatible with windows 7. "

Srsly: What Ogden said. I don't say this lightly as Turnpike users seem
to be the most loyal users ever - but if it's getting this bad now, it
    will only get worse later.

  13. Apparently it has problems with 64 bit versions. the latest Turnpike
(6.06) works fine with 32 bit versions so I'm told.

One reason I've stuck with WinXP is that I'm rather taken with my TP and
would like to keep it; I've yet to find anything that will touch it for
the way I use it as I have a server running connect and I log into TP
from other machines as I see fit and it all just works.

I've not had anything I need to do that means I have to upgrade - no
    doubt the day will come.

At the moment, I'm using the win7 machine to look at another one using
    remote desktop

Not ideal, but it works for the moment

So no great rush as plan B is working

    email is valid
