I recently bought a pair of Lockhart Phillips Short Stalk Turn Signals
with Dual Filaments. The signals have three wires but the wiring on
my bike (98 yzf 600) only has two. I ran two of the wires from the
signals and left the other wire unconnected. I have running lights
and they flash when i press my turn signals. So, they work. My
question is should i ground the unconnected wire? Will having it
unconnected short the bulbs or anything else?

    Thanks,
    JJP

  2. Here is Lockhart Phillips number (800) 221-7291

I would call them and ask them. My guess here is that the 3rd wire is
indeed a gounding wire, and as of right now it is either finding ground
through your housing or feeding back through the other filliment, but
you would notice it either being rather dim or the other lights being on
    that would normally not be.

Here's my guess. Since they're dual filament, I would think that one wire
powers one filament, the second wire powers filament number two, and the
    third wire is a ground.
