    and after:

Jobs done include tank/mudguard spraying, lots of engine case painting,
    530 chain conversion.

Jobs to do include sorting front brakes (need a front master cylinder),
sorting oil leak from clutch case, valve clearances and throttle
balancing. Oh and fitting the new plate I have.

Runs ok - just doesn't stop.

Can we get all the Kawa 750s together and find out which one accelerates
    fastest down hill?

Down hill the Turbos will be off-boost and moving like slugs.

If it was an up hill race there would indeed be a risk of tsunami.

  5. The digicam flatters it, but it's getting there.
The guy I bought it off had a full set including the link pipe - so I
snapped them up. There were also a set on ebay a week or so ago - they
went for 50 quid plus postage.... I think you can still buy them new,
    I've not checked but I've heard they're 1200 a side!
The C+S were pretty knackered, and the 630 stuff was more expensive and
harder to find, so I went for the 530. ZX9R front sprocket and B+C had a
rear in stock. Interestingly modern 530 chain has a higher tensile
strength than the stock 1980s 630, plus it's a lot lighter and cheaper,
so no reason to stick with the 630.
I originally tried Smoothrite but got really fucking fed up with it
reacting, so stripped it off and used cheapo Halfords grey primer and
black gloss, has come up pretty well - have to see how it wears. Still
have the offside covers to paint. Fitting stainless fasteners as I go.
    Damn fine idea.

  7. Halford aerosols, but they're not fuggin cheap - fiver a can I think.

As for masking - hah - well the rotor cover and the front sprocket cover
come off easily enough, so I stripped them off the bike. The right hand
side is trickier, especially as I have what looks like a glued on piece
of crankcase on the front cover. That's on my to-do list as well. The
clutch cover looks do-able with masking it up - but mines leaking so
I've got a new gasket for it, think it was about a tenner (for a gasket
ffs!) so will do it while it's off. I also need to check the clutch, the
clutch lever is very stiff, so it could be on stock clutch with heavy
duty springs which means it's been slipping at one point.
Avebury sounds do-able, have spent hardly any time on a bike in last
couple of years, so any excuse for a trip :)

    You have mail btw.

I think he might have been referring to a _steep_ hill. A _very_ steep
    hill.
