After hearing Redshad and his n.e. tx cousin talk so much about the color of
a leaf is different now than a while back, Walker and I decided to swing
around to that Sam Houston Forest on our way down to Houston. We sat and
watch those trees down there and they must be late changers because they are
still kinda green to me. Anyway that took a lot of time so best my onboard
photographer could do is the 3 or 4 pictures at the link - ...louie

I heard you guys were down there about the time I was heading back from
Alabama. If you guys would've let me know, I would've dropped down from
Jackson Mississippi and headed through New Orleans and into Houston to
meet. I came back Tuesday night. I was going to wait until Wednesday
and take my time, then I got tired of the bullshit Alabama has to offer
and headed back early. I ended up making good time on the trip. For
just over 700 miles, the average was 68mph and a top speed of
    121mph...according to the GPS log!

BTW, was that a "depth finder" on Jerry's motorcycle? :)

You gonna have to monitor activity.

We couldn't stay in Houston long, everyone is either working or going to the
doctor. We didn't have anyone to play with.

I came back Tuesday night. I was going to wait until Wednesday
Must of been when you dropped it(gps).

    and Doppler! ....sez it's handy.

    Yeah, that's it!!!

I was heading through Tennessee a couple weeks ago and went through
Nashville. Their finest rescued society by stopping me from all that
"excessive speed" I was doing going through their fine city. This cop
was completely irate by my ripping down the interstate highways the way
    I was.

It turned out, he pulled me over for 68 in a 65!!! He said it was lucky
I was pulled over by him, 'cause if it were anyone else I'd have been
hauled to jail. I asked him what they do to someone who has a busted
    tail-light...shoot 'em on sight?

When he first told me I was going 68mph out there, my response was "is
that like a big thing in Tennessee"? This poor cop was spitting and
sputtering around there on the side of the highway. I handed him my
driver's license and he REALLY became excited. Started screaming out
"what do you have to do with the Texas dps?". This was like @ 2am. I'd
been awake and going for two days. I'd been in Memphis and heading to
Knoxville. I had to be in Knoxville by 7am and I was already losing an
hour from the time change. I was like "what the hell are you talking
about?". He started waving around the stack I'd handed him and
screaming "this that you handed me...what do you have to do with the
DPS?". I said "uh, that's my driver's license". After all this was
over, I called my admin in Dallas and told her what had happened. She
said I should've taken the cop up on his offer to take me to jail, at
least then I'd have stopped long enough to get some sleep.

Poor girl was REALLY pissed when I ended up having to head back to
Memphis that day I got to Knoxville.
Man, I thought I was fancy with my gps and psp being wired up and all!
I'll have to get me one of them depth finders and doppler thingies!
