It might be that they have compared the 0-60 time (3.5s, not far off
what a 600cc *sportsbike* can do) and concluded that the bike is
`equivalent' to a *racing* bike.

God love humanities graduates dealing with numbers.

 

But power needed increases with the cube of the velocity. Factor into
that brake specific fuel consumption and tyre drag.. and a host of other
stuff.

 

Heh. We get them in this university, they're the ones still here when
they finish their degrees. They come back to run the student bars and shops.
