Perhaps Champ misunderstood and is expecting some kind of high tech
    scalextric.

Except that drag increases with the square of speed, so that 15% speed
increase will require <leaves calculations to someone else> a lot more
that a 15% increase in power (and therefore overall energy use).

  7. (100/115)^2 = 0.75, so the earlier-mentioned 6 litres is looking good.

"It hardly makes any noise," said Hussain. "Either we start making
noise, which is quite an inefficient way of moving forward, or we start
training people that these bikes will be silent so you need to start
looking both ways before crossing the road."

Whatever happened to "look right, look left, look right again"?

It might be that they have compared the 0-60 time (3.5s, not far off
what a 600cc *sportsbike* can do) and concluded that the bike is
    `equivalent' to a *racing* bike.

But power needed increases with the cube of the velocity. Factor into
that brake specific fuel consumption and tyre drag.. and a host of other
    stuff.

they finish their degrees. They come back to run the student bars and shops.
