Right, as mentioned in another post, I'm going to DFV the hiring of
the Scout Hut in Onchan next year for the TT. This provides you with
kitchen, toilets/showers, and the ability to 'pitch' a tent inside the
Scout hall. There is also secure parking for about 8 bikes. The
place is located about 20 minutes walk/5 minutes bike from Douglas.

I'll speak to appropriate people soon in order to get contact details
for the Scout group and start determining availability and costs.

    And to make things clear:

    - I'm not organising ferries.
    - There will be no refunds of any money if you drop out after paying
and I'll not profit in any way from the trip. Any monies paid will go
directly to the Scout group in payment for the hut.
    - I'm simply facilitating.
    - I believe the hut needs to be booked for the full two weeks. I'm
only going for race week, Saturday to Saturday.
    - I don't know when the 2010 TT dates actually are.
    - You're not covered by ABTA.

If you're interested, email me[1] at a demunged version of the address
in my headers, and I'll add you to the mailing list. Or you can
    request an invitation here...

Do we still have first dibs on it? IIRC we let it go this year so if Ash
managed to find another taker they may have first refusal.

This may indeed be the case. I've mailed Adie and Chris Shallcross to
get Ash's details (although if he's lurking, please get in touch!) and
I'll find out what to score it.

Obviously if someone else does have dibs, then I won't be organising
    anything.

Oh, and another thing, when people mail please can they let me know
their posting name/real name so I can figure out who's who?

I forgot about that. I know 'we' don't follow the normal booking
process because 'we' had exclusive use of the hall for 2 weeks, but it
handily does have Ash's details at the bottom, so I can drop him a
    mail.

count us in. you don't have to have the hut for two weeks - we had it
for a week at MGP. it just makes folks who want to go for the weekend
    have to find somewhere else.

I suspect the donation we made to Onchan scouts last year (cash you
perverts, cash) might help our cause.

You not bringing someone who's too posh to stay in t'hut this time then?

Pity, 'cos the hut's got plenty of ropes for a makeshift straitjacket...
