I've put EP90 in an engine before, but that was an attempt to make it a
    little quieter.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that the official MoD service manual for the Can
Am Bombardier says 10W30 mineral oil in the forks. Which is why I
asked about the necessity of fork oil.

    I'll check.

You and Suzuki both. They're in the Haynes manual, they've got an
exploded diagram of a TC100/TS100 rear wheel showing where they live,
and there are six of them lying on my garage floor, replete with little
Suzuki 'S's. I took some photos of them but they're on the machine at
    home.

You're talking about the air-cooled 4 stroke 4 from Kawasaki. TOG was
talking about the water cooled 2 stroke triple from Suzuki. YTC.

And anyway, the champagne colour was lovely.

    Yup, 10W30, 200ml of.

Or am I missing a trick? Is only the lower viscosity important as the
    forks never warm up?

  7. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
I think you're right about that one. I had a CanAm yonks back and seem
to recall the necessity for engine oil of some description in the forks.

Probably military necessity at that - you don't want to be farting
around under fire trying to find some 5W fork oil, so any old oil will
    do.

Apologies in advance for the abysmally poor focus:

The Wing uses Pro-Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8 (or equivalent)

    What a helpful manual.

    Haynes is slightly less helpful.

Chapter 1 says see Ch. 6

Chapter 6 says see Ch. 1

    for "recommended" fork oil.

    Top stuff.
