Trying to choose between a Deauville and a Pan Euro

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Mikey_Jax, Apr 10, 2007.

  1. I've never ridden one (and the people here slagging them off won't have,
either), though I have ridden a cuple of Reveres.

The problem is in the spec sheet - there's not a lof of power dragging
round something nearly the size of a Pan. Draw your own conclusions.

  2. Oh, no, no, no, no. There's no need for that sort of thing.

Plenty of people here will do it for you.

  3. Is that really a DB quote? It sounds far too intellectual.

Ah I have ridden an NTV 650, is that essentially the same bike? The one I
rode seemed to fall into corners and you spent the rest of the bend fighting
the steering, may have just been that particular bike though as it wasn't at
    all looked after.

Commuting is a broad church. Three hours of my (very rare) commute
would be just as easy on a Wing with trailer as any other bike, but the
other hour needs something very skinny, ideally with trials bike
    steering lock.

I agree, on both counts. On my third Blackbird now, after a few years
with a GPZ1100. All bikes were ridden through Europe with pillion
girlfriend. The GPZ1100 I thought was very underated - OK, it's old
technology, but it went all over France and never faltered. It suited
both myself (at 6ft and over 14st) and my chubby 4ft-something
partner. Same with the Blackbird, although it obviously can cruise at
a higher speed, especially with an aftermarket bubble screen. We did
many miles on a holiday through France and Spain with the Blackbird
and no luggage save for a tank bag and throwover panniers.
