Lovely. And I believed every word.

I bought my Triumph because of that film. I heard an old bloke saying
"Ah, they don't make them like that any more" and that was enough to
    convince me.

Also, I swear blind I saw a young Colin Irvine meandering through
central London in a Mk IV Jaguar in there somewhere.

They look very little bigger than a Z200.
I didn't realise the film was that old.

I made a mistake, I meant MkIX. That brings it closer to the time.

It's taking ages to load but I seemed to spot Eric Morecambe hitting a
    gudgeon pin with a hammer.
And more than that - that was the only on-topic post I have seen here
    for 6½ years.

Do you mean it's the only British bike related post you've seen here in
that long[1]? That may be due to the fact that most owners of old
British bikes still have their heads stuck firmly in the sand and won't
buy one of those new-fangled computers[2]. They're sitting there playing
with slide rules waiting for the day when the Japanese are finally
exposed as selling rubbish, so Triumph can put the Pre-Unit Bonneville
back into production, because that's what everyone good British bloke
    wants to buy really.

    [1] This newsgroup hasn't existed for 6 1/2 years.
[2] They're just a fad, no-one will be buying them in 5 years time.

    It is certainly the best.
    It will, given time.
Quite. I've been saying that for forty years.

BTW, I would like to save the video for offline viewing but it is not a
..wmv as I know them. It is a .dat file and it won't co-operate.
    Any ideas?

  14. not arf as questionable as the sound track. sounds like a wind-up
    gramophone with a dodgy spring.
