If sourcing replacement fork stanchions from YOUR LOCAL TRIUMPH DEALER
is over your head, then maybe a nice simple bicycle would suffice.

  3. Eh up, two wheels .... are you sure ?
Methinks three would be best suited.

There will be loads of varying ideas punted at your post from now on.

One idea is to grab a copy of a reputable motorcycle magazine and check how
much to have them repaired professionally.
Barter the price down on the basis of the price to repair and haggle for a
suitable result or go for a bike without that problem.

Other than that wait for someone else to offer an opinion and take it from
    there..

    Best of luck anyway...

You can get fork legs chromed and re-ground easily enough or shop
around for second hand and hope they're straight and in good condition
but if you think all this is a bit over your head don't even consider
buying the bike. They're old bikes now and you'll find other niggling
problems that need keeping on top of so unless you know your stuff
    avoid.
