More pics will be available soon. I'm going to take her to some
appropriate/period locations and do some proper shots with all the pukka
snapping equipment. (For 20 years of a previous incarnation I was an
advertising photographer, so it's a habit I can't kick) I'll post the web
    address when they are done.

Thus spake The Older Gentleman unto the assembled multitudes:
That's the one I had (though not the plod version); it was a 1973
Meriden-spare-parts model. This was the one that self-destructed during
one-thrash-too-many. Bought it for 500 quid in 1975; sold it as a basket
case for 60 quid in 1980 :-( Where are you now, DDU 246L?

  3. Nice. Personally I'd be shot of the pedestrian cutter front plate,
even though it's allowable for the age of the bike.

I know what you mean and deliberated a lot. Having the nacelle headlight
though, it looked somehow odd without the cutter. It was only when the
number plate characters were actually put in place, after this picture was
taken, that the cutter looked comfortable and less of a blob.

    Nice looking motor RG..
    jim.

Back in the dark-ages, duck-egg blue was also the colour the instructions
said to paint the underside of an Airfix Spitfire model kit - but I never
    had the patience.

The Triumph's actual engine re-build was ages ago and I'll have to root
through some paperwork to tell you exactly what component juggling occurred
    - although basically the replacement engine was an intact runner in it's own
right (but homeless) prior to the work and much of it remained unchanged.
Cams choice was certainly standard to maintain low end flexibility as a good
percentage of riding would be urban.

I have to admit there is a pronounced sensitivity to fuel used. The bike
definitely runs smoother on good-brand premium U/L plus an additive rather
than any LRP grot - and some supermarket price stuff can feel lumpy
regardless of what is put in it.

I stand corrected, you're spot on.

The Vb was the 1/24th beauty that I've now built twice.

Ermmm... That doesn't make me sad does it lads? Lads? Lads?...

Oooh, new! Must be a rework of the old 1a kit though. Hadn't seen
that one, not that I have time or space to make kits much these
    days...

Coming from you (and *that* jumper) I count that as high praise indeed.
