Triumph Oddness

Got the Tiger serviced at a main dealer on Weds and since then it's
doing something odd. If it's in gear it refuses to drop the rpm below
2,500 even if the clutch is pulled in. As soon as the gearbox is put
into neutral the engine slows to the normal tick-over. For slow-speed
riding and dealing with junctions this is very annoying and perhaps
dangerous as the blinking thing 'kicks' if you try to make it drop below
2,500 rpm in gear. It's going back to the shop on Saturday. Anyone seen
    anything like this?

Yeah I've seen perfectly good bikes fucked up by dealers numerous
times. Sounds like they've either dislodged a sensor wire, or loaded a
    dodgy tune.

    Indeed that is the plan.

They lent me a Daytona 650 on Weds. Not too bad, but didn't really do it
for me. The seat was rock hard, the positioning not that comfy, the gear
change between 1st and 2nd was horrible, and it was too buzzy if you see
what I mean. On the plus side it cornered brilliantly, brakes were very
good, and everything else did what it said on the tin.

I mentioned to Anne that I liked the new black Bonnie and she said, "why
don't you get one then". Hmm, time for a test ride and a think about
making space in the garage then.

I had similar on my Fiesta, turned out to be a gearbox speed sensor
that upped the revs slightly if the vehicle was stationary so the power
steering wouldn't stall the engine. When it fucked up the revs would
sit at 2000 if you dipped the clutch while moving and it would just run
on against the brakes when coming to a stop. I cured it the easy way,
by unplugging the sensor wires and cable-tying them out of the way -
job jobbed and 60 quid saved.

Why don't you tie it in so that it's a weekend when I'm off and you
can come down, collect your leathers, have a blast, do beers and stop
at our place, do a fot then head back up north?

We can have a chat next weekend when we're in France and try to sort
out a date then go back to the good old days when a fot was a high
speed blast and **** the consequences.

It's back at the shop now so I hope they do whatever needs to be done. I
can't say that I have noticed any problems on either Triumph's FI
    before.

Shops says it is now all sorted out. They have applied another FI map
and test ridden it. So off to pubic transport to collect it.
