Shit.
Probably doesn't matter, seeing as I'd assume this one (10-reg, 620 miles on the clock) is meant to be the best of the lot. It's a loaner from Bulldog Triumph while my Sprint ST is serviced, MOTd and given a new front tyre.
I liked one when I rode the new 09 model last year, in a "so it's a mild-mannered low-powered sem-sporty bike", but my real objections to it are: 1. It's nowhere near powerful enough for a 900cc twin 2. It's just too big and bulky - it would dwarf a Meriden Bonnie. 3. It's muffled and detoxed into oblivion. Obviously this can be changed - there's a geezer I see commuting on one that's got clip-ons, rearsets and a pair of fruity cans and it sounds much more the business. But the main reason why I didn't buy one was (1). I've already got a low-powered sports bike (the Ducati) and didn't see the need for another. But the Street Triple.... ah, that's a horse of a different colour <G>. You've got to have a go on one. Everyone who's ridden mine has got off it with a grin to match their visor aperture.
Really? It seems so *small*... Yeah, it's quieter than my Sprint ST and like riding a hairdryer. It's not my cup of chocolate for sure, but I've not ridden a bike that didn't have some kind of sports-orientation for 25 years! Cool. Are you taking it to France? I assume not... (
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Colin Irvine <G> She's been fully trained on the Spezial Applikator, one assumes.
