VMWare is your friend... just run a Windows host OS and a Linux guest OS,
and the winmodem will appear as just another serial port to the Linux
    machine.

Admittedly, it's a bit of overkill just to get a winmodem working, but it's
also nice to have a couple of virtual machines on a single physical one :)

Heh! And undoubtedly if either of us ever try to make a claim all
we'll end up with once the $400 excess is deducted is $3.50 and a kick
    in the nuts...

Mind you, that should still buy an equivalent replacement machine! ;-)

Yeah, I'd like to know what was the idea behind "Jumping Man" too!
How dare *you* tell *me* to lighten up! ;-)

I thought about it, but laziness won out. I'll see if I can soup up
the flash on the camera a bit... ;-)

Wow, the stats say 57 page hits in a single day, but the more
impressive figure is that 24% of those were using Konqueror - I'm so
    proud of youse guys! ;-)

Konqueror is the default web browser for KDE (one of the major Linux
desktops). So *at least* 13 of the people who looked at that page
    were using Linux[1].

[1] And an unknown additional number may have been using Mozilla or
one of the other Linux browsers too.
