  1. Built in Italy, so the speedo is automaticlly calibrated halfway between
    kph and mph....

For the same reason we say 'one two five'[1], 'two fifty', 'seven
fifty' - it rolls off the tongue better.

[1] Unless you're called Carlton Kirby, who says 'one twenty five'.

Just the opposite ime. Italian & Brit speedos tend to be far less
    optimistic than Jap ones.

Well he'd hardly still be going now, would he?

Yeah, but he's proved himself to be a clueless cock on a multitude of
occasions, so I wouldn't take any notice of anything he says. If he said
that the sky was blue, I'd still look out the window to check for myself.

    I think you'll find that should be 2.5 x 10^-4 m^3

  9. What happened to a five? I'm sure in the long and varied motorbike
history someone was mad enough to make one (and not by just taking a
six and sawing off one cylinder either..)

Heh. Shame really as he's pretty good on the Dakar commentary, but I
s'pose it's much easier when it isn't live.

Yes, I suppose he doesn't have to count the laps[1] down for the viewers
    for one thing.

    [1] There's 10 laps to go, 9 next time[2].
[2] Oh fucking really, wow, thanks for doing the maths.

Excellent, I'm not sure if you got the email I sent you and Keef
whimping out of attending on health grounds. Demon was playing up at the
time and I somehow seem to have managed to lose the sent message. I got
a MDSN from Keef which suggests he received it though.

Well I was suffering a humour leak, having gone on site for a full day
and then developing a headache, earache and stiff neck again.

Anyway, he might not even have started.
