Well that was nice. Labour on the first service is free anyway, but at the
drop of a hat they fitted an NWS hugger and Motrax Loobman *and* repaired
the puncutre in the rear type (500 miles FFS) supplied a carbon tank
protector, all for 355 GBP and in 2.5 hours.

For a first service? **** me, another good reason[1] not to buy a new

  3. that seems an awful lot for a minor service. Mines just been in for
the 42K and the standard price quoted was £175 ish.

they also MOT'd and changed break pads and it only came to £225.

If it was a big service (12,24,36,48K miles) then it was a good price.
my last big service was £475.

out of interest, where was this?

Forf *everything* The Hugger, the Loobtronic, the service, the puncture,
the protector, a sheet of protector and couple of visor wipes.
The total cost of the first service *alone* was about 20GBP

All the other stuff that was additional to the first service sounded
pretty pricey, and the labour itself was free. So an oil, filter and
washers for around £20 is probably right.

That would have been the bill for the oil I suppose, the labour was

Well, yes. I reckon that 1.5 hours to fit that lot was a good deal. The
prices to supply were almost exactly the same as I would have paid at Ally
    Pally or mail order.

  15. that makes it a little more sensible. you said 'fit' you forgot to
mention that the parts were included in the price.

I thought that was a given and would /never/ accuse anyone of trying to
cover up they misread the original post.

So, I'm sure Mr. Catman can't have made it plain enough in the first
instance and it was I that jumped to totally unfounded conclusions.

I'd love to find your supplier then:
Can't be bothered to cehck the invoice at this point, but I think it was
    less.
    Lubetronic + controller: GBP 69.98
    Triumph GBP 24.99
    Similar Motrax GBP 19.99
    NWS GBP 89.99
    Skidmarx (Ally Pally price)GBP 79.99
Pyramid (From Demon Tweeks) GBP 70.00
Think it was more like a tenner
A fair attitude :) OTOH this bike is being hauled into London everyday,
and I'm sick of cleaning crap off the shock and oiling the chain :)
