    Hi

I have a '98 Triumph Trophy 900 and I am considering changing the
front / rear sprocket combination to reduce the revs. I'm not
over-concerned about acceleration. Has anyone any experience in
    experimenting with various ratios?

    Regards

  2. I've got the 1200 and Triumph raised the overall gearing on that. No
experience with the 900, but I'd ask whether it can rev out in top (or
    close to).

If it can, it might be worth raising the gearing. The 1200 is geared for
175 at the redline (!!!) but it has the torque to pull tall gearing.
Dunno if the 900 has adequate grunt to pull that barn door fairing at
lower revs. I rather doubt it.
