Fucking hell, it took long enough for someone to come up with something
    like that.

Is it at this point where Champ says "kept your boyish looks and good
    charm"? ;-)

Yeah in 1993-4 cant quite remember. The hospital was suitably vague. As
I was already a non smoking veggie they couldn't even suggest lifestyle
changes! I was under considerable lifestyle stress at the time though.
I changed that and brought the Cholestorol down a fair bit.

The feeling down my left side picked up again inside a month with
regular physio, about 20% strength loss had to be made up again. No
    re-occurance.

Your history would be considerably different to mine though Loz.

  10. My father (his father had had several large strokes by the age of 35 so
    he was justifiably worried).

It was during the follow-on tests that he discovered that he had
    Parkinsons..
TIAs are often known as stroke precursors - ie warnings that a stroke
may be possible. Generally they treat you as if you had had a stroke
and put you on treatments to lower the chances of you having a stroke.
It's often seen as a good thing to have a TIA - it does very little
damage (usually) and means that they can start the treatment designed
to stop strokes in the future.
    Enjoy the CAT scan :)
