Only if you can show me the jar.

I wish I'd never mentioned the donkey now. Those aren't my breasts and
    I'm not doing that!

Seems perfectly resonable to me, qualified as it was by "To the
    average joe public".

  8. not bad but I am at the bottom of a fairly steep learning curve with
such a sophisticated camera - well compared to what I have used before.
The main thing is that it feels and acts like a "real" camera not these
horrendous size of a postage stamp digital things.

  10. he won't because he's bought a single instead of a return where an
advance purchase ticket would be cheaper. It is very rare to get a
    reduction on single tickets.

I'm more than happy with mine. If you've already bought into the EOS
system it's a no-brainer to go for the digital body. I jumped from
Minolta to Canon when I got mine.
The beauty of digital is it costs nothing to learn. I've taken 3,000
shots since I got mine ... in March. Normally I'd get through two or
    three (36) films per month.

Would it have been any cheaper for me to pre-book a return and then not
    use the return ticket?

  13. a saver return would have cost you £1 more than the single.

I've just had a look at Virgin Trains own website - you can get a London
to Penrith single ticket for as low as £15 with steps up to £27 one way.
These are all very limited offers and you must book well in advance but
nevertheless there are bargains to be had. They ONLY apply to single
operator trips though - your trip from Flitwick involves a couple of
    changes of operator.

I realise you would have the nonsense of travelling to London to go back
out again but if time is not a huge constraint then it's an option.

    Ooh, bargain single ticket :-(
    That's fairly inexpensive[1].
Yeah, it uses Virgin and some others. I have 3 changes of train over 6
    and a bit hours.
I wouldn't have bothered, unless it took me all the way there with no
    stops.

[1] Salesman talk for 'cheap as ****'. Usually used to describe
something that looks like shit and is dirt cheap, but without wanting it
to sound as such, i.e. Hyosung Cruise 11 125s and a whole selection of
    other Chinese copies.

But that doesn't mean it's right.

"Ooh it only cost me £10 in petrol" is _not_ the true cost.

Whereas a train fare of £10 is exactly that, £10.

And what you don't seem to understand is that just becuase they don't do
this, it doesn't mean they are right.
